When I was 19 years old I was in my Freshman year of college just trying to see a few innings out on the bump. Bryce Harper on the other hand, got his first major league Hit of his career. Take a minute to think about that. If you happened to be a college athlete, most of us at the age of 19 were trying just to be noticed enough to see some playing time. Harper has a little bit different of intentions. It seems like the baseball world has been waiting ever so long for Bryce to be called up to the majors. I remember a few years ago watching ridiculous YouTube videos of him throwing absolute cheddar and hitting moonshots at Tropicana field (if you haven’t seen them, you should check this video out right now).
He was 16 in this video, OH BY THE WAY.
Now the time has arrived, and as I watched him get his first career hit I thought A) This kid is a freak B) I wonder if he will live up to all this hype and C) This kid needs to get a haircut! Most believe he will only have a short stint up in the Majors, however if he plays how he did both Saturday and Sunday, it will be near impossible to keep him out of the lineup for a team that currently holds the top spot in the NL East.
Oh and with that cut.. he is my pick for Bleeping Idiot of the Week.
That hair cut is absolutely ridiculous. Looks like there is some sort of Animal on top of his head. Not only is it out of control, but as you see in the video, he intentionally hits his helmet off as he is headed to second base just so all of the world could take notice to it.
